praca s plastom zacala experimentami, ktore chemikalie rozpustaju ktory plast, a viem si ich dovolit. ustalil som sa na acetone, ktory viac menej fungoval na plasty typu vinyl, abs, plexisklo, polystyren, co som si overil pomocou realnych experimentov. v priebehu prace som aj s pomocou Ing. Aleny Opálkovej Šiškovej zo SAV zistil, s cim priblizne mozem pracovat. pri skuskach plastu vyvstalo ze mnohe kancelarkse stroje typu tlaciarne, kavovary, skenery alebo reproduktory su vyrabane (exterier) z ABS plastu, ktory sa da pekne rozpustit v acetone. moj vyskum sa teda vidal tymto smerom. pomery som vacsinou pouzival aceton/ABS - 3/1 (g). ako technologiu som povodne skusal plast vstrekovat, neskor som sa vsak vydal cestou liatia roztopeneho plastu na vodnu hladinu. aceton v plaste reaguje s vodou a straca schopnost plast topit a teda plast pekne vytvrdne na vodnej hladine, kedze ma mensiu hustotu ako voda.

working with plastic started with experiments to see which chemicals dissolve which plastic, and is also affordable. I settled on acetone, which more or less worked on plastics such as vinyl, ABS, Plexiglas, polystyrene, which I verified through real experiments. during the work, I also found out, with the help of Ing. Alena Opálková Šišková from SAV, what I could work with. during testing, it turned out that many office machines such as printers, coffee makers, scanners or speakers are made (exterior) of ABS plastic, which can be easily dissolved in acetone. my research than took this direction. I mostly used the ratios acetone/ABS - 3/1 (g). I initially tried to injection moulding as a technology, but later I went the route of pouring molten plastic onto the water surface. the acetone in the plastic reacts with water and loses its ability to melt the plastic, so the plastic hardens nicely on the water surface since it has lower density.
